i am an army vetern 1972-1975 looking for my son who is stationed at fort lewis washington. i am hoping someone will read this and recognize my sons name, eric matthew goepel. my ex-husband and i had two children which were raised apart, i have found out my son joined the army, 3rd batt, 1st special forces, it does not matter about time it does matter about love. i have called fort lewis and have so many numbers which i have called to no avail, they have lost my son although they do agree he is there. the last noumber was to a sgt perez, all i get is a recording. i am dealing with a three hour time difference and i work. i bought a phone card, so i could call from work but again only a recording. i need to talk to my son, i need to know he is okay and i need him to know he is loved and i need help in locating him. if anyone can help me, please call him and talk to him or tell me what other things i need to do. i have emailed him but nothing, he is enlisted and only 19 years old, for my child to go overseas and never know if he is okay is brutal. my name is mickey and my son is eric, if you can help me locate my son....thank you

My finance is a captain of the usmc of 32 BCT, 100-442 INF., he received injuries serving in iraq and was put in the marine hosiptal in pakinstan. My heart goes out to his men in his unit and to all the soliders in iraq including my brother in law Sgt. Erick Webber who is serving in iraq now with the communications division. i think it is great the way these men and women risk thair lives th save the lives of others. And i only see it right that they get the right to come home before they take off. at least for a couple days, but when they are denied permission to go home when they are not spose to leave for over a month i find it highly dispicable and wrong for the Army. But in retrospect if they need a little more training then i must understand.(If you have me be a pen pal for one of the troops I would like to be able to talk to Robert Carruth. because we all miss him very much an would like to know how is doing insted of just hoping that he is alright.

Thank you all so much for leaving the comfort of your homes, missing your loved ones, and risking your lives - basically stepping outside of your own lives for the betterment of so many others. Your sacrifice is appreciated by more people back home than you realize. I hope that each of you will return home safely with the confidence that you have helped to make the world a better and safer place to live. God Bless You All
